Masuma Khatun

Masuma Khatun is a master Kantha artisan from Bolpur in Birbhum. More than 350 artisans work with her.

Her pieces tell stories: birds, village life and the tree of life, drawn by her hand and stitched in the old running stitch. She draws and pins each design herself and checks every piece before it reaches us.

Through KANTHA, her work reaches you directly - with her name on it, and with the money going back to the women who made it.
