Shipping policy

Every KANTHA piece is hand-stitched by artisans in Birbhum, West Bengal, and packed by hand before it leaves us. This page explains how and when your order will reach you.

Shipping within India

The exact shipping charge is always shown at checkout before you pay. Made-to-order pieces ship free within India, whatever the order value.

When your order is dispatched

Ready-to-ship pieces: dispatched within 3 working days of your order. Delivery usually takes 5–7 days after dispatch, depending on your location.

Made-to-order and custom pieces: stitched only after you order. Most pieces take 1 to 4 months, depending on the fabric, size and density of stitching. The estimated time is shared with you before you pay. You can follow your piece at every stage, from design to the last stitch, on your order tracking page. We dispatch as soon as the piece is finished and the balance payment is received.

Working days are Monday to Saturday, excluding public holidays.

Tracking your order

When your order is dispatched, we send you the courier name and tracking link on WhatsApp and email. All orders are sent by tracked courier.

International shipping

We ship to the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

International courier rates depend on the country, weight and season, so we do not charge a fixed shipping amount at checkout. This is how it works:

1. You pay for your piece at checkout. Prices are in Indian Rupees; your card or bank converts the amount.
2. When your piece is ready, we pack and weigh it and send you the exact courier cost (DHL, FedEx, Aramex or India Post, all tracked) with a secure payment link on WhatsApp and email.
3. Once the shipping payment is made, your piece is dispatched within 1 working day and you receive the tracking link.

Guide price: express shipping for one saree (about 0.6–1 kg packed) to the USA, UK or Canada usually costs ₹2,500–3,500. Economy shipping is cheaper but slower. You always see the exact amount before you pay.

Delivery time: about 5–8 working days by express, or 7–15 days by economy, after dispatch.

Customs and duties: any import duty or tax charged by your country is paid by the receiver on arrival, as per your country’s rules.

Address and delivery

Please check your name, full address, PIN code and phone number carefully at checkout. If you need to change the address, message us before your order is dispatched.

If a parcel is returned to us because the address was wrong or incomplete, or because nobody was available to receive it after the courier’s attempts, we will ship it again once you pay the extra shipping charge.

Delays

Delivery times are estimates. Courier delays, weather, festivals, strikes or other events outside our control can sometimes slow a delivery. If your parcel seems stuck, contact us and we will follow it up with the courier for you.

Parcel arrived damaged?

If the outer packaging is badly damaged when it arrives, please take a photo before opening it. If the piece is damaged or not as described, tell us within 72 hours (3 days) of delivery with clear photos. Do not remove the KANTHA security tag. Please see our Refund Policy for the full process.
