Information we collect

Information you give us:

  • Your name, phone and WhatsApp number, email address, and shipping and billing address.
  • Order details and any notes you send us.
  • Design ideas, photos or measurements you share for a custom piece.
  • Messages you send us on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook or email.

Payment information: payments are handled by our payment partners (Razorpay and Shopify). We do not see or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking password.

Information collected automatically: your device and browser type, IP address, pages you visit, and how you use our website. This is collected through cookies and similar tools (see “Cookies” below).

How we use your information

  • To process, make and deliver your order, including made-to-order and custom pieces.
  • To send order updates, payment links, making-progress photos and tracking details on WhatsApp, SMS and email.
  • To reply to your questions and give you customer support.
  • To handle returns, refunds and cancellations.
  • To prevent fraud and keep our website secure.
  • To understand how people use our website so we can improve it.
  • To show you relevant KANTHA ads on Facebook, Instagram and Google.
  • To send you news and offers, only if you have agreed to receive them. You can stop these at any time.

Who we share your information with

We share only what is needed, and only with:

  • Courier partners (for example India Post, DHL, FedEx, Aramex), so they can deliver your parcel.
  • Payment partners (Razorpay, Shopify Payments), so they can process your payment.
  • Our platform and service providers:
    • Shopify, which hosts our store.
    • Meta (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram), for messages and ads.
    • Google, for search, shopping and analytics.
    • Microsoft Clarity, for anonymous website usage analysis.
    • Our secure cloud database, where order records are kept.
  • Our artisans, who receive only the design details and photos needed to make your piece, never your payment details.
  • Government or law-enforcement authorities, when the law requires it.

We never sell your personal information.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, measure visits, and show relevant ads. These include the Meta Pixel, Google tags and Microsoft Clarity.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the website, such as the cart, may not work properly without them.

WhatsApp messages

If you contact us on WhatsApp or give us your WhatsApp number while ordering, we may message you about your order and enquiries. Some replies are sent by our automated assistant, and a member of our team takes over when needed. To stop marketing messages, simply reply STOP. You will still receive important updates about an order you have placed.

How long we keep your information

We keep order and payment records for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require, usually up to 8 years. Other information is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

How we protect your information

We use secure, encrypted (HTTPS) connections and trusted service providers, and we limit access to your information to people who need it. No method of storing or sending data online is 100% secure, but we take reasonable care to protect your information.

Your rights

Under Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct or update it.
  • Ask us to delete it, unless we must keep it by law.
  • Withdraw your consent to marketing at any time.
  • Raise a complaint about how your information is handled.

Children

Our website is not meant for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Links to other websites

Our website may link to other websites, such as Instagram or courier tracking pages. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
